He was a brilliant artist, humorist, clever creative inventor and human bean. Freelancing for years for Hallmark after his education at Kansas City Art Institute, he finally got hired full time in 1997, where he worked in the Shoebox Greeting section until it was closed and he transitioned into doing computer mock-ups of catalog offerings, among others, as well as pitching concepts. They downsized in 2009 and sent him packing. He lived his adult life in KC and I only got to see him if I went there, as he stopped traveling with the exception of my mother's funeral.
The remainder of this post will be a mish-mash of photos over the years. While he became nearly completely immersed in computer art in the last 20 years of his life, it is his paintings and drawings and cartoons that I love the most.
